Recovery starts with knowledge
Your brain can heal – with the right plan.
The first two weeks after a concussion matter most. Concussion Essentials gives you clear, research-backed guidance to help you take the right steps — at the right time — to support your brain and speed up recovery. Created by a specialist physiotherapist, it'll help you navigate symptoms, avoid setbacks, and start healing with confidence.
Don't wait to feel better. Early action leads to faster recovery.
The first few days after a concussion matter.
Research shows that the earlier you take action — like getting expert advice, staying gently active, and understanding what your brain needs — the better your chances of a full recovery.
The longer you wait, the longer healing can take. Starting the right care early reduces the risk of lingering symptoms and puts you on the path to feeling like yourself again.
Feel like yourself again
When your brain isn’t working the way it used to, everything feels harder. Recovery means more than just feeling “okay” again — it means restoring the parts of your life that make you you:
- Clarity & Focus: Think clearly, stay on task, and feel sharp again.
- Emotional Balance: Say goodbye to the irritability, anxiety, and emotional rollercoasters.
- Restful Sleep: Fall asleep easily and wake up feeling refreshed.
- Confidence & Coordination: Move without dizziness or fear of falling.
- Comfort: Handle bright lights, busy spaces, and noise with ease.
- Energy & Motivation: Feel energized, motivated, and ready to re-engage with life.

I'm Kosta Ikonomou
Sports Medicine & Concussion Specialist
Over the past decade, I’ve helped athletes, patients, and clinicians make sense of concussion recovery—especially when it comes to the often-overlooked vestibular system. I’ve completed advanced training through Duke University and regularly teach other professionals how to assess and treat post-concussion symptoms effectively.
I run a specialized concussion clinic focused on both acute and persistent cases, offering virtual care worldwide and traveling to treat elite athletes and teams. My research, including a recent publication on vestibular fatigue, has been presented at international conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
This guide brings together the exact strategies I use in clinic—grounded in evidence, shaped by experience, and delivered with care.
